Geelong is blessed with many great childcare centres, so we're really lucky that Bambini Early Learning has chosen to open a centre in Newtown early next year. With 92 long daycare places for children aged 3 months to 5 years, the centre will also offer 3 & 4 year old kindergarten programs.

Bambini is a group of boutique childcare centres operated by Carla Atkin. It already has two established centres in Brighton, and in January (along with Newtown) it will also open a facility at The Royal Childrens Hospital.
The Newtown centre is at 89 Aphrasia St, and it will be open from 7.30-6pm Mon-Fri, 50 weeks a year. It will have 8 rooms and its facilities will include 2 full-time chefs focussed on preparing organic produce, as well as an art teacher and art studio.

The Bambini Early Learning Centre Philosophy
The centre is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to learning. It values children as strong, resilient and full of curiosity. Some of its principles are:
- Children are driven to learn by exploring their interests and ideas. They develop knowledge, curiosity, imagination and independent thinking through involvement in small and large groups, in project based learning.
- Children use 'a hundred languages' - that is, many different ways to show their understanding and express their thoughts and creativity. They can do this through drawing, pretend play, music, dance and sculpting and lots of other creative outlets.
- Teachers are guides and mentors, and Bambini Early Learning Centre takes a child-led approach to learning. Activities and projects emerge based on children's interests.
- The environment is the 'third teacher'. The centre places special focus on educating children, families and teachers on adopting environmentally-friendly practices.
- Promoting and demonstrating a healthy nutritional diet will promote positive life-long eating patterns.
