Looking for a Christmas gift that also helps to bring some joy to disadvantaged local families? Look no further than Geelong Mum's Rise And Shine Baby initiative.

The Campaign
Did you know that last year 20,000 people in Geelong experienced food insecurity - meaning that they didn't have enough money to put enough food on the table? For local Geelong families in need, having essentials like a safe cot for their baby to sleep in is often financially out of reach, meaning parents are often forced to use unsafe equipment or even go without.
Geelong Mums is a charity that provides emergency relief baby equipment to more than 20 local families every week. It has launched the Rise And Shine Baby campaign to raise funds to buy new cots and bedding for the babies of Geelong's disadvantaged families.
Geelong Mums General Manager Kate Kent says that the organisation finds it difficult to meet demand for these items. “Sourcing high quality pre-loved cots is tough as they must meet strict Australian standards, and often pre-loved cots do not meet these standards due to being too old or in very poor condition.” Hence the need to raise funds
