Why: Little Green Corner opened its doors today, and it is nothing less than a labour of love. Completely dedicated to sustainability, owners Hugh and Claire have cut out as much packaging and waste from their supply chain as possible. This means that sparkling water comes on tap (avoiding bottles), the staff hand make the cafe's almond milk (made from almonds bought at the wholefoods store across the road) and even the eggs come with minimal packaging.
Fare: The space is light and airy with super friendly staff. And while we didn't eat today, the food looks incredible, with fresh, locally-sourced salads a highlight. Little Green Cafe is rolling out an interesting initiative called 'Little Green Farm', referring to the backyards around Geelong that will supply some of its ingredients. They'll share more about it via their Facebook page.

We loved that our Oh So herbal tea was served in Pyrex jugs so that, as Hugh pointed out, "you can see the leaves'.
The Verdict: Another winner for our city. It's well worth a visit, and we really wish the team at Little Green Corner every success. It's businesses like these that lead the way toward a greener, better future for us all.
